Retired Liverpool footballer Jamie Carragher and his charity, the 23 Foundation, have teamed up with the Saoirse Foundation to support sick children with rare and genetic disorders.

Tony Heffernan, Saoirse Foundation founder, said they're currently focusing on building Ireland's first respite care centre Liam's Lodge, and Carragher commented his aim is to 'help as many children as possible to have a better life'.
